01/02/2011 – Watch for the Unexpected Image

Watch for the unexpected Image

Some of the most interesting pictures ever taken were not planned shots, or studio portraits, but the candid, unexpected image that literally appeared right before our eyes.

For those of us who use our SLR’s for most of our work sometimes find it difficult to put our gear together in time for one of those unexpected shots, especially if you are like me and keep your gear nicely tucked away in hardshell protective cases. The other option is to pick up a good point and shoot camera, if you do not mind spending a little extra money. If not, then you need to get into the habit of taking your camera with you whenever you leave the house.

You do not need to carry around a Canon 1D MKII or even a 30/40/50 D camera. You can find a decent Rebel or Nikon camera at places like KEH.com without breaking the bank. They are worth their money to have a throw around camera available for those “ah Hah!” moments that jump out at us. There is an old saying that the best camera you can ever have is the one that you have WITH You!

Regardless of the equipment you use, always remember to keep the batteries fully charged, extra memory cards and the most important – TAKE IT WITH YOU! Happy Shooting!
